MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell pulled a trump card and took the company’s official Twitter account with him in an effort to evade his recent ban on the platform.
Lindell – an outspoken supporter of the former president and his tiring, destructive, unfounded allegations of widespread electoral fraud – was permanently suspended from Twitter last week for violating civic integrity policies.
After the ban, the verified company account for MyPillow put several first-person tweets, apparently from Lindell, and attacked Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, accusing him of being somehow complicit in Trump’s election loss. .
“Jack Dorsey is trying to cancel me (Mike Lindell)! … Jack will be found out and must be put in jail if everything is known!”
Monday night CNN journalist Donie O’Sullivan noticed that the @mypillowusa account has been suspended.
A Twitter spokesperson confirmed to Mashable that the account was “permanently suspended because it violated us evasion policy prohibited. “
The move reflects Trump’s efforts to evade his own suspension on similar grounds last month.
When Trump was permanently banned from Twitter in the wake of the Capitol uprising, several Trumpworld accounts were also permanently suspended after clear attempts to allow him to use it as a proxy. The accounts affected included the official @TeamTrump campaign account and its digital director Gary Coby.
It seems that MyPillow will have to promote both its products and unsubstantiated conspiracy theories on Parler in future.
