The major local collaboration update from Stardew Valley has hit consoles

Stardew valleyThe 1.5 update delighted many of us when it came out for PC in December, and now it’s finally available for consoles. The developer of the game announced on Twitter that the update should start within the next few hours to Switch, Xbox and PlayStation. At the time of writing this is already available on the Nintendo Switch.

The most striking feature in the update is local co-op playback with two screens, which looks absolutely perfect for consoles. Do I want to sit next to someone I love on the couch and build a farm together? Absolutely, yes, and now we can.

The update also includes a new menu Advanced Options, new buildings, animals and enemies, and of course a crop of bug fixes.

The complete exchange list is available at Stardew valleyon your website, and you can see for yourself what changes excite you – we are excited about chairs you can actually sit on, a menu tab that tells you if you talked to someone on the day of the game , and a whole new region with its own quest and characters.

When we first discussed this update, we called Stardew valley our ‘forever game’ because many of us come back to play it every time it’s updated. Despite the popularity of the game (it sells over 10 million copies), it still feels like a very personal project – just like my place in the game, but I will admit that it is a bit less impressive.
