Last year, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Watch 3 and the smartwatch did live up to the expectations of people. And that gives Samsung a good reason to introduce its successor. Well, the company has already started working on it, it actually looks like the upcoming Galaxy Watch 4 is in the final stages of development, because according to tipster Ice Universe, the launch of the Galaxy Watch 3 successor is not far off.
If the tipster believes, the Galaxy Watch 4 will see the light of day in the second quarter of 2021, although he did not name the exact release date. In addition to Galaxy Watch 4, Samsung is also planning to launch the Galaxy Watch Active 4 in the same quarter (yes, you did not hear that, will not be called Active Active 3). However, it is not clear whether Samsung will launch these two smartwatches on the same day.
Unfortunately, we do not know much about the Galaxy Watch 4, but we can make some good guesses about its specifications. We expect the smartwatch to be available in different sizes, and it can also be offered at LTE. Other features may include a heart rate monitor, an ECG, GPS and a circular AMOLED screen. And rumors have it that the Galaxy Watch 4 will embrace Google’s WearOS, as opposed to the Galaxy Watch 3. Rumors also claim that Samsung’s future smartwatches will be based on WearOS and not on TizenOS.
Galaxy Watch Active 4, on the other hand, is not expected to differ much from the Watch 4, although we may see slight differences in terms of designs and features. And just like Watch 4, the Watch Active 4 can also be based on WearOS. Again, this is speculation only at this point, so you should best wait for Samsung to clean up the next generation of smartwatches.
