The Oregon Health Authority held a media conference Friday to provide an update on the COVID-19 vaccine for Oregon.
This comes after the operators of the COVID-19 vaccination room at the Oregon Convention Center announced that snow will close on Friday and Saturday. A decision on whether to open the site on Sunday has not yet been made.
A major vaccination center at Portland International Airport was also closed Saturday and Sunday.
About 6,000 residents in the area would be vaccinated in the conference center on Friday and Saturday. Staff will contact anyone who has made appointments to resume them for another date, said Brian Terrett, a spokesman for Legacy Health, which operates the site with other local health care providers.
Friday’s news conference featured comments from Patrick Allen, director of the Oregon Health Authority, and Dr. Dean Sidelinger, public health and epidemiologist.
