DENVER – While the voice mail of The Grizzly Rose guarantees that all public health safety guidelines are followed in the dance hall and bar, hundreds of people packed into the business event on Saturday.
The Grizzly Rose, which opened in 1989, is only open Friday and Saturday and was a local favorite across Denver.
Jenny Orin said it is a much-loved place in the community, but she was shocked when she saw crowds packed into the bar on social media on Saturday night.
Orin’s sister saw videos from Saturday night on Snapchat and showed her.
‘It seems that in the beginning they may have talked well about social distance. They lived six feet apart, some people were wearing masks, but the video I saw last night was something completely different. health, ‘said Orin.
Hundreds of people were packed inside on Saturday night. Masks were a rarity and social distribution was virtually non-existent.
“It’s just so amazing to see them disregard their community like that. I feel contemptuous,” Orin said.
She said the move to make crowds of such magnitude feel like a “step backwards in our timeline to become normal again.”
In the past year, other restaurants and music venues have been embroiled in lawsuits over health care violations.
So far we have not heard from local or state health departments about this big event. The Grizzly Rose also chose not to comment.
“I do not know what I feel about fines and violations, but what I saw last night should not happen, and I want it to stop,” Orin said.
