The massive merger between Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the French Groupe PSA removed one of its last regulatory hurdles at the end of December, and the final transaction will take place tomorrow, 4 January 2020. But it’s just like Frank B. Rhodes, jr., Great-grandson of Walter P. Chrysler, do not get she says.

On December 24, 2020, Rhodes filed a complaint at the last minute indicating that the merger plan was changing. And from the sound of things he is not happy with it, well, anything.

“In my opinion, this alternative proposal is better than the planned merger and will lead to the return to the United States of the Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram Brands and away from the proposed Chinese, and foreign control as proposed in the merger,” Rhodes said in a Press release.

One of Rhodes’ main complaints is about the Stellantis name, which is the title that the merged group will adopt. Instead, he wants it ‘Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram Corporation ‘- which certainly does not take into account the purpose of the merger.

In addition, Rhodes suggested that Stellantis retain its European headquarters in London, but move its headquarters to the United States. This will enable existing management and employees to stick around. He really do not want this Americaa brand to become something more global.

He lodged a complaint with the Stellantis manager and with the US senators to remind them that this would not be a good thing for America.

At this stage of the business, it is unlikely that we will see a major overhaul of the proposed merger – especially not those that threaten the integrity of both brands.
