The Samsung Galaxy S20 series was the first series from Samsung with a high refresh rate (120Hz). However, there was one small problem with the execution. You can run your S20 (and Note 20) only at its original QHD resolution or 120Hz refresh rate, but not both at the same time. It’s not exactly clear why you could not do both; the display processors in the Exynos 990 and Snapdragon 865 were probably capable and the bandwidth was probably there to drive the resolution and the frame rate, so it is possible that Samsung has problems with the resolution and frame rate. (For what it’s worth, the Tab S7 series supports display on the screen at its original resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.) Fortunately, it seems that for the next generation Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung finally has support for 120Hz refresh rate at the original WQHD + made possible. Resolution (3200 x 1400).
The calls for Samsung to support the feature come from all corners of the tech community, and it seems like Samsung is finally addressing these issues for its early flagships in 2021. The Galaxy S21 Ultra will be the best model of Samsung’s upcoming range , and users will eventually have the ability to turn on both screen functions at the same time if a leak from Ice Universe can be accepted.

The S21 Ultra is set to the same 5000 mAh battery as the S20 Ultra, but there are rumors that it has a better battery life. This is possible due to the enhanced efficiency of the VRR OLED display technology first used in the Note20 Ultra, which enables the device to switch seamlessly to lower refresh rates when needed to reduce power output. If true, you do not need to run both functions at the same time. The new Galaxy S21 series is due to be announced on January 14th at the upcoming Unpacked event, so we will be able to know more about this soon.
