R. – Certainly, the visit of the Pope to us is like a remedy for the inconveniences that are produced before: where there is violence, there is peace, there is an authority that has the political ambition as the ecclesiastical. And we do not need them. If the Pope’s venue is for us a species of medicine: with which we can certainly extend his message in depth.
The church of the Inmaculada Conception has been destroyed by the jihadists. In this sense, what does it mean to meet the Pope just inside this sacred and hereditary edifice, and want to celebrate here?
R.- It is a sign of the tenacity that tenemos, and of the tenacidity of the Iglesia in all the world. Supporting a golf club community, including restoring an edification, is a very important and significant sign because this church was deliberately run to give a message to this people: “No need to be here”. Going with the Santo Padre here means a lot and refusing our existence here, means getting to the realms of our history and our fairy tales, and we say that the universal Iglesia, represented by the Santo Padre, is with us.

R.- Since the city was liberated on October 23, 2016, it has not seen signs of violence and because of this it has spread to our homes. The climate is very tranquil and pacific, because the Christians of the city are both majority and symbiosis what we have, as well as the positive ones are more than the negative ones. Although Papa’s visit to Qaraqosh, the majority of its members are serious Catholics, we invite all of Nineveh’s Llanura to take part in this event. To the Christians of all the people, to all the churches that exist: Orthodox, Catholic, Caldeos … All will be invited to participate and play with us at this moment.
Is there a risk that you will not be able to get rid of these pandemics?
R. – We are also working on it. The people will respect the sanitary norms in order to reduce the contagion and will not say that this arrangement will block the papacy. From here, we can present this problem.
