Ahead of the new year, Microsoft is releasing two of its planned Xbox titles with gold titles for January a day early, making it available now.
Everyone around the world is getting ready to celebrate the new year, but Microsoft has continued with plans for one of its services. The first two Xbox titles that were part of the Xbox Live games with gold in January 2021, were released a day early, and both can now be downloaded from the Microsoft Store.
The new year started earlier than expected for Xbox users as they can pick up the Xbox One game Little nightmares and the Xbox 360 game The King of Fighters 13. Now it’s clear why Microsoft earlier than usual announced its Xbox Free games with gold in January 20201. Originally, these titles would be available on January 1, but Microsoft decided to push the date slightly. The rest of the games planned for January are the Xbox One port of Dead Rising and the Xbox 360 game Break down, which is likely to follow the original timeline and be released on January 16th.
Little nightmares is a horror game with puzzle platforms featuring a little girl in a yellow raincoat who has become quite recognizable in game circles. His game shares similarities with the popular title Limbo, but his style has an almost Tim Burton-like quality. The developer, Tarsier Studios, has previously worked LittleBigPlanet and it is shown in the design. After it was released, Little nightmares garnered positive reviews and even produced a sequel. The other free game, The King of Fighters 13, is part of the long-running fighting game series by SNK, which started in 1994.
There is a rumor about another Microsoft service. According to one source, Ubisoft + is on its way to Xbox Game Pass in 2021, which is not a stretch, as EA Play was already added earlier this year. This app was part of a list of the ten biggest rumors about Xbox, which includes exclusive titles and other possible announcements in the future. Although there have been no official confirmations yet, the addition of Ubisoft + is a great addition to an already good service.
It’s been a big year for Xbox, and it looks like a lot more is in store for its consoles in 2021. The biggest thing that happened was the release of the Xbox Series X, Microsoft’s next generation console. As with all new consoles, the library of games is somewhat scarce. However, the collection of available games is getting wider after a while, and next year there will be quite a few new titles. A number of Xbox Series X games are planned for 2021 and include both first and third party games. Among them will be Hitman 3, the Prince of Persia remake, and the long-awaited Halo Infinite.
