‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ star Anthony Mackie would catch and fry fish in-between while filming ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Endgame’

Anthony Mackie, star of The falcon and the winter soldier, is no stranger to the Marvel universe. While his role in the new Disney + show may have made him more recognizable to casual fans, Mackie has been working on Marvel movies for almost 10 years.

Mackie has previously starred in both Captain America and Avengers franchises, with its first role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Because Mackie hails from New Orleans, he enjoys fishing in his spare time. This means he can watch fishing regularly while working on film sets, in between. In fact, Mackie regularly went fishing while working Infinity War and Endgame.

Mackie shared the details behind his fishing habits during a recent episode of Warm people.

‘So while we were shooting Endgame and Infinite War they had these big lakes and dams on their property, ”Mackie said. “So in between, I’ll go fishing.”

The cast and crew member loved his fish

Mackie admitted that the production staff were initially not happy about what he was doing, but that they changed quickly.

“I bought an outside grill for my trailer, like fresh fish on the set, which some people had a problem with,” Mackie said. “Until they tasted the fish, they understood my situation.”

He also fished while on the set of ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’

However, Mackie’s fishing routine is not just for Marvel movies. He could also enjoy his hobby while filming another movie.

‘We shot Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunters here in New Orleans … and they have these fish called Alligator garfish, ” Mackie said. “It’s like a pike, but with the face of a crocodile.”

Before he knows it, Mackie has a garfish on his fishing line.

“So one day I’ll put on a cigar,” Mackie said. ‘I have a PA with me so I do not get into trouble. So the PA just sits there and talks to me like, ‘Oh, that’s so much fun, I can not believe we’re on film. All of a sudden, the line starts to stretch, and there is a fishfish about five feet long that is just munching on this fish. ‘

No one realized how big the garvis was until Mackie tried to pull it out of the water, which needed the help of his truck.

“I take the line, I tie it to the buffer of the truck, pull the truck out of the water so that it brings out the fish,” Mackie said. ‘It was the biggest garfish I’ve ever seen. It was bigger than this girl, this girl was like 5’2 “, and this fish was like 5’5”. ”

Mackie, who is familiar with the fish species, was relatively calm as he stood face to face with the enormous fish. However, his production assistant was not so balanced.

“So she freaked out and climbed on the radio,” Mackie said. ” Oh my God, we have – oh my God, oh my God, someone is helping us! ‘But it was just the ability to catch and hold it. So I have a picture of this garvis lying in my full costume over my chest Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunters. ”
