The expansion of Stellaris Star Wars will drop next month

We’ve had a lot of fun over the past few weeks about the upcoming expansion of Stellaris: Nemesis. From building a network of Bothan spies to reliving that moment in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, the new Stellaris DLC makes Space 4X basically a Star Wars game, and we are for it.

We’ll be even more here when Nemesis comes out next month in April. The release date of the new expansion was announced as part of the Paradox Insider event, which also includes announcements about Crusader Kings 3 and Surviving Mars.

The main functions include the ‘word’ of the end crisis by creating a planet that destroys superweapons. You could also be chosen as the ‘keeper’, someone who empowers military galaxies around the world to try to stop this new galactic villain. You can then do a Palpatine and retain those powers and instead create a galactic empire. As is tradition, there will be a free patch that will accompany the expansion. We are not 100% sure where the line will be drawn in terms of free and premium features.

We thought the new espionage system might be in a basic form for free, but it’s being mentioned on the store page right now as a feature of the extension itself, so we’ll keep you posted.
