The Epic Games Store leans even more into exclusive stuff and there’s a Spring Showcase this week

Expect many more exclusive Epic Store by at least 2022

The Epic Games Store is securing even more exclusive deals over the next two years, and later this week it’s launching a Spring Showcase event with game announcements (and offering a similar sale).

The first bit is crucial and lays the foundation for Epic’s ongoing strategy. In a statement to PC Gamer, a representative said the store will be “more exclusive in the next two years than we have published so far.”

The list contains titles we know of, such as this year’s Darkest dungeon 2, and presumably a lot of what we do not do. There is also the issue of the publication of genDesign, PlayDead and Remedy on Epic Games.

Later this week, we see a collection of new announcements, gameplay and expanded looks offered by the developers to create the games we all love ‘in a live-streamed event. The Epic Games Store Spring Showcase airs on Twitch at 11:00 in the Pacific Thursday 11 February.

At this point, there is nothing to know what Epic may have up its sleeve – established IPs, fresh indies and everything in between. As long as these deals are offered and the conditions are appealing, we will be seeing much more promising games for at least a year after launch at the Epic Store.

It really feels like this attack plan can go on uninterrupted for a long time, tall time.
