Times change, people change, and things evolve. This is just how things go. And when it comes to the Deshaun Watson saga, the evolution of a hazy situation can gain clarity.
To be clear, I do not think we are closer to the end of the drama today than yesterday. But reading this tweet was striking:
If the Texans finally trade Watson, it should be the Jets for their first and second rounds this year and next year, and Quinnen Williams. At least. And use the Jets’ second overall pick on the second-best QB to replace Watson.

At first glance, it does not look like much. It’s been a long time since Texans writer defeated and presented a hypothetical trade proposal in which Houston sends Watson to the Jets. At the simplest level, it’s an outline of what might seem like an executable trade that can make both sides happy. But there is always more below the surface. And NFL Network’s James Palmer nails it when he tweets: “If the man who covers the team better than anyone from does NOT go, they trade Deshaun Watson! … until … here’s what the #texans should do if they trade Watson, it means something. ”
In other words, it means it’s time to fasten. Especially on the heels of reports that Watson wants to be traded regardless of who Houston coaches in 2021. While the Super Bowl is around the corner, every other conversation in football will surround Watson’s future (as well as that of the others potentially available). quarterbacks this off-season). Hold it, friends. Because this is just the beginning.
