The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, recalls Raúl Castro as the first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC, Unique Legal) this month, in the quarter and last day of the VIII Congress of Political Formation.

Together with Raúl Castro, 89 years old, salary of the dome of the PCC other historical leaders such as the current number of the formation, José Ramón Machado-Ventura (90), and the commander Ramiro Valdés (88), in addition to Marino Murillo, considered the “tsar” of the economic reforms initiated a decade ago.

The second cargo of the PCC Secretariat, which has now been occupied by Machado-Ventura, has been eliminated, and which does not appear in any of the listed lists in the Cuban state media, unique with access to the cover of the conclave.

Among the newcomers to the PCC’s Political Bureau, and above all Cuba, are the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Manuel Marrero, and Luis Alberto Rodríguez López-Callejas, former Raúl Castro in charge of the GAESA military Cuban conglomerate who controls them most economically active assets of the country.

He is in charge of the PCC’s maximum management body, in addition to Díaz-Canel, the President of the Parliament, Esteban Lazo; the Cuban Deputy Commissioner, Salvador Valdés; the Deputy Prime Minister, Roberto Morales, and the Minister of the Exterior, Bruno Rodríguez, among others.

In total, the new organ incorporates 14 conductors, less than the previous composition.

Among them are three veteran mayors of 70 years and three women: the president of the Federation of Cuban Women, Teresa Amarelle; the scientist and director of the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, Marta Ayala, and the first secretary of the PC in Artemisa, Gladys Martínez.

The militaries are represented by the recently appointed Minister of the Revolutionary Forces, General of Ejército Álvaro López Miera; the Interior, Divisional General Lázaro Álvarez Casas, and by Rodríguez López-Callejas, who holds the rank of Brigadier General.

The Secretariat of the PCC has completed its composition and integrated work by Roberto Morales (Organization and Politics of Squads), Rogelio Polanco (Department of Ideology), Joel Queipo Ruiz (Economics), José Ramón Monteagudo Ruiz (Agroalismocciacte), Transport and Services) and Jorge Luis Broche (Education, Sports and Science).

The new Political Bureau and the Secretariat were appointed by the Central Committee to elect the 300 delegates who assisted the city in representing the more than 700,000 militants, and whose composition was reduced from 142 to 115.

The Central Committee, which “has in its charge the application of resolutions, policies and programs approved by the Congress of the Eligible”, agrees with the official information.

The VIII Congress of the PCC will be finalized today, in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the “Victoria of Playa Girón”, as it was called in Cuba the failed anticastrian invasion of Bahia de Cochinos (1961). (I)
