Infectious Disease Epidemiologist Saskia Popescu, PhD, recently tweeted about her own vaccine side effects, who described the two days following her second dose as ‘not nice’. She outlined her own list of symptoms and briefly chewed on the experience. Would she do it again, she asks rhetorically? “Natural.” But her harder-than-expected use of it has led to a kind of emphasis: “We need to ensure that people have the chance to take time off after the shot,” Popescu concluded.

The first side effect Popescu noticed was her fever. Many who receive the COVID vaccine get a mild or moderate fever after the injection, but it will usually go away within one to three days. Iahn Gonsenhauser, MD, chief patient safety officer at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, shared his own vaccination experience in an interview with NBC. Although Popescu did not specify which vaccine she received, it appears to be very normal. Sixty percent report more common myalgia or bodily pain.

Popescu carefully referred to this symptom as an ‘extra bonus’ and warned that you may experience a bad mission after receiving the COVID vaccine.
