A court has granted accused Capitol riot Jenny Cudd permission to travel to Mexico later this month for a pre-planned “weekend getaway” with her employees.
Cudd was charged with trespassing on a restricted building and disorderly conduct last month after she was allegedly part of a group that broke into Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s house during the January 6 riot.
A condition for Cudd’s release last month was that ‘travel outside the continental US must be approved by the court’.

Her lawyers asked the court on Monday to allow her to travel to Riviera Maya, Mexico, from February 18 to 21 for a pre-planned trip with the employees of a flower shop she owns.
“Before the alleged offense in question, Ms. Cudd planned to retire with her employees for a weekend,” reads the motion filed by her attorneys. “It’s a work-related refuge for employees and their spouses.”

Jenny Cudd, an accused Capitol rioter and former mayoral candidate in Midland, was given permission on Friday to travel to Mexico later this month for a pre-planned business trip.

The court noted Friday that Cudd’s interim services officer and prosecutors did not oppose the request.
“The court also notes that the accused has no criminal history and there is no evidence before the court to indicate that the accused is a flight risk or poses a danger to others,” the court order reads.
Cudd shared a video that has now been removed on Facebook in which she boasted of being part of the group that broke down Pelosi’s door.

“We … broke down Nancy Pelosi’s office door and someone stole her hammer and took a picture of her sitting in the chair and slamming away from the camera,” she said in the video.
Cudd told the Associated Press that after she was arrested, she did not enter Pelosi’s office herself and did nothing violent.
