The Colorado Springs COVID-19 vaccine is only capable of confiscating doses

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo (KRDO) – New information from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment indicates that Dr. Moma Medical Spa in Colorado Springs is the only COVID-19 vaccine in the state that has interrupted administration.

“To date, nothing like the situation in El Paso where we had to close the site has started. We have moved vaccines when suppliers notify us of possible problems, such as unstable storage units,” a spokesman said. of CDPHE said.

According to the list of vaccine providers at El Paso County Public Health, it was also the only state-approved medical spa to administer vaccines. Dr Momas usually provide services like Botox, fillers and laser hair removal.

Local health officials reported concerns about COVID-19 vaccine handling and storage during an inspection at Dr.’s medical spa. The state then seized 3,150 doses.

At least 150 doses were wasted after the department could not confirm whether the necessary handling and temperature had been maintained.

Anastasia Harder barely got the Pfizer vaccine last Wednesday.

“When I first looked at this place, I was very worried because it was not a big clinic like King Soopers or CVS,” Harder said.

But with the shortage of supply, Harder reluctantly clicked on the confirmation button and was vaccinated in the clinic two days before the problem was discovered.

‘It was a headache to plan this first one. Like at 12 o’clock and that’s the only reason I got this appointment was because I refreshed the page every five minutes to find an appointment, ‘she said.

El Paso County Public Health and the state health department are telling people who have been vaccinated at Dr. Moma’s clinic to wait for guidance from health officials before proceeding with the COVID-19 vaccination process.

The State Health Department points out that every COVID-19 vaccine provider must undergo an enrollment process before it can be cleared to administer doses to the public.

“Each provider undergoes a formal enrollment process set forth by the CDC and CDPHE and must demonstrate the ability to meet all COVID-19 vaccine program requirements before becoming an approved vaccine provider,” CDPHE said.
