FORECAST SUMMARY
The weather is quiet this week.
But we’re starting the cloudy work week: it’s a gray start to your Monday morning.
We will start to see some sunshine through the clouds during lunch, and then we will get sunnier later in the afternoon.
Look for a beautiful sunset on Monday at 16:55.
Because we’re half the day cloudy, our highs will get stuck on Monday in the 1930s.
Then the sky shines Monday night and we are sunny on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Because we get a full day of sunshine on Tuesday, we go back to the 40s. Then we are in the mid 40’s by Thursday.
‘Milder’ air rises from the south to take us to that mid 40’s. Air usually flows up from the south in front of a cold front, and on Friday we get the cold front.
If it passes on Friday afternoon, it will be cloudy. The afternoon clouds hit our highs back to the low 40s.
It’s a weak cold front, so we’ll stay dry if it crosses.
Then we are back in the thirties for the weekend because we feel the effects of the cold front.
Saturday afternoon it will be cloudy again. These clouds come from the lake effect. No, we do not get snow. However, the western and central PA will. By the time air arrives here, it will have dropped its snow. So, we just get the clouds, rather Saturday afternoon.
It’s quite windy on Friday and Saturday, so it gives an extra cold air.
We start brisk on Sunday, but lose the wind in the afternoon. Enjoy the sunny sun all day.
Monday of next week (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) it gets even colder. You might just say cold enough for snow …
Ahead: the future radars we use to predict have a blizzard in the forecast for the start of the January 18 work week.
Too early to set a day (January 18-20) or if it will even happen, but they were in line with a blizzard in the forecast for the start of the work week, next week. So we’ll keep an eye on it and let you know if it looks like a reality.
