MADRID, 18 Dic. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Red Biomedical Research Center (CIBER) and the National Center for Supercomputation (BSC-CNS) will launch the new Infrastructure of Precision Medicine (IMPaCT). The convocatoria associated with this initiative amounts to 25.8 million euros in direct aid, which is managed by CIBER and the BSC-CNS.

A total of 100 institutions for all autonomous communities participate in the implementation of the three IMPaCT programs: Predictive Medicine, Data Science and Genome Medicine
The Consorcio Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red (CIBER) en el Barcelona Supercomputing Center-Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) son of the selected centers to lead the launch of the new Infraestructura de Medicina de Precisiia asociada (IMPiada) . The convocatoria associated with this initiative amounts to 25.8 million euros in direct aid, which is managed by CIBER and the BSC-CNS.

The programs included in IMPaCT are aligned with three areas that will be developed in the future national strategy: Predictive Medicine, Genomic Medicine and Date Science. The CIBER is charged with the management of the first two, to be compared with a financing of 14 million and 7.24 million, respectively, while the BSC-CNS will cover the third, with a financing of 4.55 million.

Each of the three professional programs participates in various scientific and sanitary institutions, led by a person who acts as coordinator and responsible for the action plan. The Predictive Medicine program is coordinated by Marina Pollán from the CIBER of Epidemiology and Public Health (CIBERESP); El de Medicina Genómica, by Ángel Carracedo from the CIBER de Raras (CIBERER), and the Ciencia de Datos, by Alfonso Valencia from the BSC-CNS.

The Predictive Medicine program runs with the participation of 21 more institutions between hospitals and research centers in all of Spain. The Genome Medicine will have a network of five genomic analysis centers and a group of clinical experts and, in total, will meet the participation of 45 groups of 38 centers (25 hospitals and 13 research centers or universities) with representation of all autonomous communities. Thus, in the Data Science Program, 47 institutions participate, covering all autonomous communities with Accredited Sanitary Institutions, and collaborating with companies, foundations, universities, and research centers.
