The chicory of Wandersong dev now brings his cute dogs and magic brushes to PS4 and PS5 • Eurogamer.net

Except previously announced computer version.

Chicory: A Colorful Tale, publishers Finji’s delightful game with magic paintbrushes and adorable dogs, is now on its way to PS4 and PS5 along with its previously announced PC release.

Chicory is the brainchild of the developer of the Wandersong, Greg Lobanov, and contains music by the composer of Celeste, Lena Raine. It charts the adventures of the above dog, who must use a magic paintbrush to restore color to the world after its original owner, Chicory, disappears.

What follows is something like a mix of Zelda and Animal Crossing, which combines exploration and puzzle solving – based on the gradually expanding abilities of your brush – with the value of animals in a city to befriend and help. There are clothes, plants and furniture that can be collected for fans, and a cooperative for those who want to splash color with a friend.

Chicory: a colorful story – official trailer.

Eurogamer’s Christian Donlan was thoroughly enchanted by Chicory when he played an early demo in 2019, saying: ‘The fun that can be with the paint in Chicory then no doubt, but more than anything the world is a delight , filled with interesting, sometimes prickly characters to chat with and riddled with treasure chests that allow you to exchange your standard clothes for something more interesting. ‘

There is no exact date yet for the arrival of Chicory, but Finji says it will go to PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 later this year.
