The Central American Bank solicits factual studies for an electric train

The Dominican Republic wants to study the possibility of constructing an electric train and to fine it, the Central American Bank will carry out factual studies for the new railway system.

The studies will determine the viability of the rail freight for passengers and passengers, and the proposal of the Ministry of Health of the Dominican Republic, which provides information on the web portal of the International Banking Entity.

The bank’s executive director, Dante Mossi, met with the Minister of Health, José Manuel Vicente, to announce the opportunities, operations and programs that will take place throughout the region.

“In this regional project it is a initiative of the Cual and identifies national works in Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala and contributes to the socio-economic development and includes the lands of the area, in addition to promoting cooperation solid and strong between the parties ”, indicates Mossi.

With this first step, the bank will burn the studies that will determine the viability of a project that, among other benefits, hopes to increase the levels of security in transport, reduce travel times and the transformation of more sustainable systems.

In October 2020, President Luis Abinader expressed his interest in continuing to transform the transportation system, as it is said that there will be continuation of railway projects only in the Dominican capital in Santiago.
