A highly contagious coronavirus variant found earlier in Great Britain is extending rapidly in the United States, duplicating approximately 10 days, following a new study. Analyzing a million million coronavirus and genome scents, a team of investigators predicts that in one of these variants it could be predominant in the United States, which could lead to a slew of new cases and a mayoral death knell.

The new investigation covers the first level at the national level of the history of the variant, known as B.1.1.7, since the United States in the 2020 finals. Last but not least, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advised that B.1.1.7 could be converted to predominant in March if comfortable as the hizo in Gran Bretaña. The new studio confirms this trayectoria prevista.

“Nothing in this document is surprising, but the people need it,” said Kristian Andersen, co-founder of the Scripps Institute of Investigation and virologist at La Jolla, California. “We will probably have to prepare for the predominant line in the Mayor of the United States in March”.

Andersen’s team estimates that the B.1.1.7 transmission rate in the United States is between 30% and 40% higher than the most common variants, although these figures can be increased to mean that more dates are obtained, dijo. The variant has been implicated in replicas in other countries, such as Ireland, Portugal and Jordan.

“I could have a very serious situation in the months or months”, dijo Nicholas Davies, epidemiologist at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine who did not participate in the study. “Pueden may be signaling justifications for an urgent investigation by public health authorities.”

Davies advised that the dates of EE.UU. its most irregular are those of Great Britain and other countries that are associated with national variants of variants. Aun así, consider the result of the algunas partes of the Estados Unidos’ son, especially for the preocupantes. In Florida, however, the new study indicates that the variant is extending with special speed, the Dr. Davies teme that a new oleada can read including antes that in the rest of the country.

When the British governor announced the discovery of B.1.1.7 on December 20, Andersen and other investigators from the United States began searching for coronavirus samples in the United States. The first case appeared on December 29 in Colorado, and Andersen found another case shortly after in San Diego. Some time ago many other parts of the country were detected. “If these dates are representative, you can have some time to act”, dijo. Andersen and his colleagues publish their home study on the Internet. Todavía has not been published in a scientific journal.

But it would be difficult to determine the degree of diffusion of the variant. The B.1.1.7 contains a distinctive set of 23 dispersed mutations in a genome of 30,000 genetic letters. The best way of averaging if a virus belongs to the line B.1.1.7 is to follow everything in its genome, a process that can only be carried out with special machines.

The CDC contracted to Helix, a laboratory test company, to examine its Covid-19 samples by signing B.1.1.7. The variant can have a negative result in one of the three tests that Helix uses to find the coronavirus. For a more in-depth analysis, Helix sent these samples to Illumina for sequencing his genomes. Last month, Helix contacted Andersen and his colleagues to help analyze the data.

Analyzing 212 American genomes B.1.1.7, Andersen’s team read a the conclusion that the most probable is that the variant will be first published in the United States in the final of November, one month before being detected.

The variant is introduced separately in the country at least once a week, most likely as a result of people traveling through the United Kingdom of Great Britain between Acción de Gracias and Navidad. The investigators combined the data of the genome sequencing with the general results of the Helix tests to read an estimate of the speed with which the variant was propagated. It’s exponentially more common in the last two months.

In Florida, scientists estimate that more than 4 percent of cases are currently caused by B.1.1.7. The national number can be from 1 or 2 per cent, according to the calculations of his team.

If so, then there are thousands of people who could be infected with the variant each day. The CDC alone has registered 611 cases of B.1.1.7, which demonstrates the insufficiency of genomic vigilance in the country.

In the parts of the country in which Helix did not realize much proof, it is probable that he was supporting the propaganda, advises Andersen. “It’s clear that it’s not enough,” he said. “It can be guaranteed that there are places where B.1.1.7 can be relatively prevalent in these altars and which we will not detect”.

Nathan Grubaugh, virologist at Yale University who did not participate in the new study, states that the dates clearly show that the incidence of B.1.1.7 is increasing as well as advancing scientists. But I do not believe that the new studio reveals exactly what is being created. “In reality, we do not reveal the cause at this moment”, dijo.

It is possible that the transmission lines of B.1.1.7 are extending more rapidly than other viruses. It can be that the B.1.1.7 is more common among travelers who read and initiate new crimes. “Todavía creo que faltan semanas para saber realem comé acabará esto”, dijo Grubaugh.

The contagious character of B.1.1.7 has been an amenity that has taken seriously. Public health meds that work with other variants can not be sufficient to retain the B.1.1.7. A mayor’s case number in the United States means more hospitalizations, which can be tried in hospitals that are only now recovering a record number of patients in my past.

To empress the cosmos, Davies and his colleagues from the School of Hygiene in Tropical Medicine of London publish on Wednesday a study online that suggests that the risk of death of B.1.1.7 is a 35 per cent mayor that the other variants. The studio has not been published in a scientific journal.

The communities can take mediates to light against variants like B.1.1.7, as Grubaugh and his colleagues from Yale University recently described it in the journal Cell. For example, in this case, the sanitary authorities should reforce the messages regarding the use of effective mascara, avoid large meetings and ensure that the interior spaces are well ventilated.

Scientists are also urging the goblins to demand the workload of diagnostic personnel with Covid-19 to detain the propagation at the work site. “These medics can help significantly reduce community transmission,” Grubaugh and his co-authors wrote.

The vacancies can also form part of the air strategy against the B.1.1.7. In Israel, however, the variant is now predominant, new cases, serious illnesses and hospitalizations have been significantly reduced in the 65-year-olds, a group with the highest priority given to vacancies. “The things we do with the current vacancies are put in the mayor’s number of possible people, the possible ones”, dijo Andersen.

The reduction of variant B.1.1.7 also reduces the risk that the variant evolution in alga aur peor. In Great Britain, investigators found masterminds of B.1.1.7 who had acquired a new mutation with the potential to make the vacancies less effective. It is not clear if these viruses are converted into anything common. But demonstrate that coronavirus has a lot of evolutionary space to explore. “We hope that this will happen”, said Andersen. “That which is to be found in other places also will be here, and we will take it”.
