The iPhone SE has shown a meager 4.7-inch screen since its return in 2016, so it’s time for Apple to shake things up with its cheapest iPhone. And it looks like a radical redesign is on the way.
According to impression analyst Ross Young on Twitter (as reported by Forbes), the iPhone SE will retain its 4.7-inch screen in 2022, while it is likely to add sub – 6GHz 5G support. This is the bad news. The good news is that the 2023 version is going to get a major upgrade.
Just last month, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also said that an iPhone SE 3 should be on the way in the first half of 2022. He says the device should include 5G connectivity and a new chipset. which at the time could be the A14 Bionic of the iPhone 12.
Apple LCD iPhone leaks, we now hear that the next LCD iPhone SE will stay at 4.7 “in 2022. Some rumors that it may also have 5G with Sub-6 GHz. Also hear of a 6.1” version in 2023 with punch hole rather than a notch.1 April 2021
However, the complete redesign of the iPhone SE will probably only take place next year if Ross Young’s comment is accurate. This 2023 model will grow from 4.7 inches to 6.1 inches, while also providing a punch hole at the top of the screen. The large screens around the iPhone SE were one of our only major complaints in our review, so that would be a very welcome change.
Based on this leak, the iPhone SE 4 is unlikely to feature Face ID, as the TrueDepth camera technology may be too large to fit in a punch-hold design. This would mean that you would expect Touch ID, either integrated in the on / off button or the screen itself.
The iPhone SE remains one of the best inexpensive phones despite its aging design. This is because it features a powerful A13 Bionic chip and solid cameras for less than $ 400. But it is clear that most users prefer a larger screen. It’s just a shame that Apple fans will apparently have to wait a few years to be the screen size and design they really want.
