Virtually going for a big show like CES 2021 was definitely an experience unlike any other, but for the smart house, the focus was on exactly what we expected – neatness, touchless experiences, the house organized and security. While CES 2021 did not attend as many established smart home brands, there are still plenty of cool articles announced aimed at making the home more connected than ever before. Our smart home team here at Digital Trends debated at CES 2021 and then voted on the best smart home technology, and here’s what we chose.
Samsung Jetbot 90 AI +
Our pick for the best new robot vacuum cleaner from CES 2021 is the Samsung Jetbot 90 AI +. More than just your regular robotic vacuum cleaner, it’s smarter when it comes to preventing annoying clutter that can cause other bumps to land. It can also serve as a safety dog when you are outside.
This tank-shaped robotic vacuum cleaner not only has 30 watts of suction power with its Jet Cyclone system to ensure the floors are clean of dirt and grime, but also has an automatic disposal system that empties the contents of its bin into the Clean Station base. This means you have less physical disposal.
The built-in camera and AI-enhanced object recognition technology enable the Samsung Jetbot 90 AI + to detect and avoid objects in its cleaning path. Cables, pet bowls and other clutter will not drive up this bot. Finally, the integrated camera can be accessed remotely via a mobile app, which allows users to see what is happening at home when they are not there. For Samsung, this is a tremendous effort given its previous robotic vacuum cleaners.

NordicTrack Vault
There have been several linked fitness exhibits for home gyms over the past year, but the NordicTrack Vault is one to look at because it incorporates a gym experience into one piece of equipment. Launched at CES 2021, the NordicTrack Vault may look like the Lululemon Mirror, but it distinguishes itself by hiding all the dumbbells, kettlebells and resistance bands to give you the full workout at home.
With its mirror finish, you can look at yourself during workouts to make sure you’re in the right shape – while also receiving instructions from the instructors on its 32-inch rotating smart HD touch screen. The design discreetly hides the handful of accessories that come with it, such as the kettlebells and yoga blocks.
As more people embrace this trend of home exercises, the Vault is a practical solution that helps keep them fit through strength and cardio workouts powered by iFit.

Few new smart locks have been announced at this year’s show, and many of them are previous models that have undergone minor changes.
