The technology show CES 2021 had the usual high-tech march of TVs, laptops, phones and robots, but masks made this year’s event different.
Here are some of the highlights of CES 2021, which ends on Thursday.
Slim masks:
– The AirPop Active + has smart sensors that measure pollution levels and can detect things like your breathing rate. AirPop says that the masks have the protection of bacterial barriers from medical masks, but the convenience of consumer masks. The AirPop Active + four-filter mask, which lasts 40 hours each, costs $ 149.99.
– Project Hazel is a N95 mask from Razer with a built-in microphone and amplifier so that your speech is not muted. A removable fan regulates airflow and a charging tray is lined with an inside of the UV light to kill bacteria and viruses as the mask charges. No price or release date yet.
Mobile Phones:
The LG Rollable has a screen that extends from a smartphone to a tablet. Although there are few details at this stage, it does not fold with a hinge like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2, but expands it or unfolds it into a larger device. TCL also featured a 6.7-inch AMOLED rollable screen aimed at smartphones. It can expand to 7.8 inches.

Caregiver robot:
CareClever’s Cutii is a companion robot for the elderly. You can of course talk to Cutii, it moves towards you automatically and it avoids obstacles automatically. If you fall, Cutii will come when you call and call for help.
Case studies:
The Pocketalk S Translator can instantly translate another language and allow you to “speak” in 82 different languages. It also has a touch screen for text translation. The camera for text to translate recognizes and instantly translates text, the written word and characters. The Pocketalk S is now available for $ 299.
Samsung S21 Ultra:
Samsung’s latest and greatest smartphone. On Thursday, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Lighted magnesium HP laptop:
The HP Elite Dragonfly G2 is a standard 13.3-inch laptop, but weighs only 2.2 pounds due to its lightweight magnesium chassis. It’s more than half a pound lighter than Apple’s MacBook Air. You can equip it with 5G mobile wireless. It comes with Intel’s latest 11th generation processors.

iPad as a computer:
The Kensington StudioDock: In addition to the striking aesthetics, you can also charge your iPad while charging your iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch. Attach a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and it looks a lot like an iMac.
8K TV is medium distance:
TCL has launched its mid-range 8K TVs at CES. TCL is known for offering affordable TVs, so we might get the first taste of more mundane prices at 8K. To date, 8K TVs – with four times the number of pixels in 4K – have been priced only for consumers with high disposable income. Pricing has yet to be announced, but the 6 Series has always been a mid-range line for TCL.
GM’s flying Cadillac
GM has introduced a vertical take-off and landing bumblebee concept called a Cadillac. It has single-passenger capacity and can fly from roof to roof and pass at speeds of up to 55 km / h.
