The barricaded situation in Clawson ends, teenage girl in critical condition

CLAWSON, Mich. A barred situation in Clawson came to an end on Sunday after the suspect was found dead inside the house.

Police said the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to authorities, the police were sent to a house in 14 Mile Road near Main Street and Washington Avenue just after 2.30 pm following a shooting. They were accompanied by officers from the Troy and Royal Oak Police Departments.

Officers found a teenage girl who was shot by her stepfather and she was transported to a hospital, where she appears in a critical condition.

“It was a young lady involved. “I saw her being carried out of the house by three police officers,” said neighbor Ryan Henahan. “My understanding is that she was shot in the back.”

According to police, the suspect fled the house of a neighbor and barricaded himself in his own home.

According to police, a neighbor trying to help the teenage girl was shot in the leg and taken to a hospital.

“I believe, to my knowledge, there was a lady who lived next to me, she was shot in the knee,” Henahan said.

When police were unable to communicate with the suspect, Oakland County SWAT team, negotiators and a psychologist were called to the scene for assistance.

Police said they could not make any communication with the suspect and after a few hours, the body of the suspect was found using the drone.
