The ASUS Chromebook CX9 is robust, light and powerful

In terms of more traditional specs, the CX9 uses Intel’s 11th-generation processors, up to a Core i7 – more power than most people in a Chromebook need, but that means it has to be extraordinarily fast. ASUS has pressed a 14-inch screen here with thin edges; the company says the laptop has a screen-to-body ratio of 91 percent. ASUS did not mention RAM or storage sizes, but the laptop does have a wide range of ports (at least as far as a 2021 laptop is concerned). One side has two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 and an HDMI port, while the other one has a traditional USB-A, a micro-SD slot, a headphone jack and a security lock.

We do not yet have a release date or price for the Chromebook CX9; At this point, we only know that it will be available in the US in the second quarter of this year. But if it has the quality construction that ASUS claims, it’s not hard to imagine a model with Core i7 processors in the $ 1,000 range.
