The alleged drunk driver ‘sniffs a family out of existence’ after the death of children

KLEIN, Texas Constant, Harris, in the county of Harris, said on Monday that a suspected disabled driver was responsible for an accident in which a mother and two of her children died in a car accident in the Spring area on Sunday.

Herman said the driver, 35-year-old Daniel Canada, will be held accountable after essentially snatching a family from life. ‘

Another child, a 2-year-old in the same family, was life-supporting in a Houston hospital Monday, Herman said.

The accident with 7 vehicles took place on Sunday evening at FM 2920 and Gosling Road. Officials said several people were injured and several vehicles burned.

Another person from another vehicle was transported by land with non-life-threatening injuries, investigators said.

All the other occupants sustained no or minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

Herman said the vehicle from Canada hit the 28-year-old mother’s vehicle at high speed. Canada is expected to survive and has lumps and bruises due to the accident. He is currently charged with one count of intoxicated assault with grievous bodily harm and three counts of intoxicated manslaughter with the possibility of upgraded charges, depending on the current situation with the 2-year-old in hospital.

The names of the family members who died were not disclosed, pending notice of the family.

Herman said the suspect’s blood alcohol content is the “most important contributing factor” in this case. He said it was 0.15%. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, you are legally intoxicated in Texas when your blood alcohol concentration reaches 0.08%.

“I really do not want to put my personal thoughts into it, because it will not be too nice,” Herman said. “But professionally I can tell you that law enforcement is still fighting the good fight against our disabled managers (with DWI initiatives among local sheriffs and local constables.)”
