Thai prime minister ends press release by spraying disinfectants

BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) – Politicians are often accused of purifying the news. The Prime Minister of Thailand on Tuesday purged members of the press.

After asking a series of questions from journalists during his weekly news conference in Bangkok, the famous mercury sprayed Prayuth Chan-ocha back – with disinfectant.

He had one last question about a possible reshuffle in the cabinet, and he told reporters that they had to think of their own affairs, and then grabbed a container of alcohol manure and dipped the front row before dropping out.

The swift commander of the army, who overthrew the elected government in a coup in 2014, is known for his unpredictable behavior. In the past, he has spoken to a media scrum while loving the ear of one of the reporters and hurling a banana peel at camera operators.

After an event in 2018, he did not want to speak to the media, and instead posted a life-size cut out of himself. “Ask this man,” he said and walked away.
