The family of Alina Valenzuela said they have disbelief because she is an active, healthy young woman without any underlying health conditions.
“She’s just like that, she’s so full of life. She’s loud. She’s funny. She’s spunk,” says her aunt Miriam Trevino.

But the seventh learner was unconscious and intubated at Texas Children’s Hospital after being transported from San Antonio to Houston on January 15.
Trevino said her niece went into cardiac arrest after first complaining of chest pain. She said doctors had now diagnosed the seventh degree with myocarditis, which is an inflammation of the heart, and doctors said it was caused by the coronavirus.
“Her heart is not working alone at all now,” Trevino said. “They told us they were linking everything to the COVID-19.”

Trevino said her niece’s deteriorating health arrived quickly and a few days after she played in a basketball game for her school.
The teenager is the captain of her volleyball team, has no underlying health conditions and never showed the classic symptoms of COVID-19, but tested positive in the hospital.
“It’s hard for us to understand and comprehend what’s going on because she’s so energetic and athletic and has never been a sick child,” Trevino said.
Her family told ABC13 the teenager had undergone two heart surgeries in the past few days. The first operation was the installation of a small heart pump and then a period.
‘It [COVID-19] is real and it’s changing, “her family said as a message to others. The symptoms change and we need to be aware of and notice anything unusual. “
Her family said that this shiny young woman is a warrior and they are now praying that she will move.
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the family as they incur medical and travel expenses.
