Texas mother sues man ‘caught looking in her teenage daughter’s window’

A dramatic video shows a Texas mom hitting a suspected peek on her body accused of looking at her teenage daughter’s bedroom window.

“First instinct was just to make sure he didn’t go any further,” said mother Phyllis Pena.

“My children are my life and just make sure I protect them,” Pena added.

The Lake Jackson mother said she came home from a store around Jan. 31 at about 7 a.m. to see the suspect staring out the window of her 15-year-old daughter.

He ran away when the mother called the police.

He started running to the mother outside her house, and then Pena dived out to him and tackled him.

The daughter helped apprehend the suspect until police arrested him.

Zane Hawkins, 19, is on trial on charges of possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest and resisting arrest, Lake Jackson police said.

“It’s not very often that we have someone who really steps in and makes themselves bad at arresting someone,” said sergeant. Roy Welch said.

The removal was recorded on the police dashcam.

“The policeman punched me and he was like, ‘Hey, so I heard the Texans were looking for a new lineout,'” Pena said.
