The Texas Department of Public Safety drew attention when it accidentally issued AMBER warnings for two Kids Games movie franchise characters.

On Friday, the murderous doll, Chucky, and his son, Glen Ray, included missing warnings for the Texas Department of Public Safety. Glen is described as wearing a blue shirt and black collar, while Chucky is believed to be wearing a “blue denim overall with multicolored striped long-sleeved shirt” and wearing a huge kitchen knife.

The local NBC affiliate learned that it was actually the result of a test that went wrong. The Department of Public Safety tested its server when it accidentally issued these false warnings. Yet it assures the public that the number on the flyers does not work.

“It was actually a test we performed on a dev server, and it went out by accident,” said Ruben Medina of DPS. “We appreciate you reaching out to us to verify this. We apologize for your inconvenience.”

The AMBER Alert System started in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. It is a system to connect broadcasters with local police departments to track down missing / abducted children. AMBER stands for America’s Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response, which is an acronym created in memory of Amber Hagerman. The 9-year-old Hagerman was abducted while riding her bicycle in Arlington, Texas, and killed in 1996.
