CALDWELL, Texas (KBTX) – A Texas A&M University soccer player was arrested in Burleson County on December 22 last week, KBTX has learned.
The Texas A&M athletics division has confirmed that true first-year striker Chris Morris has been arrested and that head coach Jimbo Fisher is aware of the situation. According to the sheriff in Burleson County, Morris was arrested for driving with a motor vehicle and with reckless driving charges. According to the sheriff, he placed a $ 6,500 bond and was released.
A copy of a law enforcement document sent to KBTX shows that Morris was in a Dodge Challenger and stopped on Highway 21 at CR 327 north of Giddings on Tuesday morning.
Aggie Athletics said Morris has not been to practice this week and will not be traveling to Miami with the team. The Aggies play North Carolina in the Orange Bowl on January 2nd.
There is no booking photo for Morris. The sheriff’s office in Burleson County said the camera was off during the time he was booked.
