The Houston Texans have one less running rugby.

Duke Johnson has been released, according to a source with knowledge of the move. This is no surprise, given that Johnson had a non-guaranteed salary of $ 4.65 million in 2021. He also had to earn another $ 500,000 through a practice bonus and roster bonuses per game worth up to $ 400,000.

Johnson spent four years in Cleveland before a trade sent him to Houston in 2019. He received 235 runs and 249 yards in 11 games last season.

The next question becomes whether the Texans will withhold or move David Johnson. Johnson appeared in 12 games during his first season with the Texans (he arrives as part of the DeAndre Hopkins trade) and scored 691 running yards, 314 yards and eight total touchdowns. He will earn $ 7.95 million in base salary this year, of which $ 2.1 million is fully guaranteed.
