Tessica Brown undergoes surgery to remove adhesive

Tessica Brown, the Louisiana woman whose use of gorilla glue in her hair made national headlines, reportedly underwent a surgical procedure in Beverly Hills to remove the offending rubble.

“The operation went well,” said Dr. Michael Obeng, director of MiKO Plastic Surgery, told CBS in Los Angeles. “Tessica is doing well. She’s awake. The hair team does her hair. ”

After the four-hour procedure during which Brown was under light anesthesia, she became suffocated when, according to TMZ, she realized that she could run her fingers through her hair again.

In the TMZ video of the procedure, Obeng explained that he combines a medical grade adhesive remover, aloe vera, olive oil and acetone to break down the polyurethane, the main ingredient in Super Glue.

‘Gorilla Glue Hair Girl’, Tessica Brown is emotional when she arrives in LA for surgery after her unfortunate mix with the sticky agent and her usual hair product.

The surgeon reached out to the desperate mother of five, who asked for help in a TikTok video that went viral, and offered to provide the chemical treatment for free. It normally costs more than $ 12,000.

“When I find out it’s a reality, you can only feel compassion and sympathy for Tessica,” Obeng told CBS LA on Tuesday. “The procedure will be to dissolve the polyurethane, that’s what Gorilla Glue is made of.”

Prior to Wednesday’s procedure, Brown and her sister used the product Goof Off to soften the glue to remove her ponytail, according to TMZ.

She told the point of sale that she had been preparing to wear wigs all her life – but was relieved that she would not need them long after Obeng’s work.

Brown said in an earlier interview that she had never intended that her ordeal would receive so much attention.

‘I would never take it to social media. “The reason I took it to social media was because I did not know what else to do,” she told ET.

‘And I know someone out there could have told me something. I did not think for one second when I got up the next morning, it would be everywhere, ‘she added.
