Tessica Brown recounts how her Gorilla Glue saga went viral

The Louisiana woman who went viral because she used Gorilla Glue as a hairspray said in an interview that she never intended to spread her sticky saga online – but was desperate for help getting rid of her mess. roomy.

‘I would never take it to social media. “The reason I took it to social media was because I did not know what else to do,” Tessica Brown told ET.

‘And I know someone out there could have told me something. I did not think for one second when I got up the next morning, it would be everywhere, ‘she added.

Brown, whose hair has been stuck for a month, said on Wednesday that she was going to see a surgeon to get stuck.

She made the announcement after TMZ reported that a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills had offered to help for free.

Describing how she ended up in the hairy condition, Brown told ET that she “definitely” regrets using the industrial strength adhesive after her hairspray runs out just as she was about to leave her home.

The five-mother said she had used Gorilla Glue before – though never on her hair – and assumed she could simply “wash” it.

After trying to use olive, tea tree and other oils to wash off the glue, she decided to go to social media – and then went to the St. Parish Hospital in Chalmette, where health workers tried to use ‘small acetone packets’.

But Brown denied that he spent 22 hours in the ER as her video sought help, the internet became stormy and she was soon called ‘Gorilla Glue Girl’.

“I told my son today, ‘I wish I could just go back,’ because I’m over it. I’m about it, ‘she told ET. ‘I’m usually the person who does not care what people say. I just move at my own pace. I do not care what people say, but it’s just that people are on TV saying things about me. ‘

Brown continued: ‘If you knew me, you would not say half the things they say. Then someone said, ‘Oh, she just deliberately put it on her head just to get here.’ Who will say with the mind, ‘Well, let’s just spray it in my head and become famous overnight?’ Never! … Who wants them to do that? I needed someone to tell me how to pick it up – that was all it was. ”

Brown, who owns Tessica’s Little Angels daycare and runs the Dazzling Divaz dance troupe, said she did not need it as her businesses struggled during the coronavirus pandemic.

‘[The news] put up a picture of my baldness, which was not me. [My daughter] had to deal with it yesterday. The teachers are talking about it, ”she said.

‘My little girl, she does not want me to do her hair anymore. I told her, ‘Let me do your hair.’ She said, “You’re not doing my hair.” “I think she’s kidding and playing, but she did not allow me to do that,” Brown added.

She has raised more than $ 16,000 in an online fundraiser, money she said goes to the wigs everyone tells me I’m going to need. That’s why I always said $ 1,500. ”

“Some of us read about everything – and it’s already starting to happen – [I’m getting] extreme headache, ”she said. ‘And the [doctors] said by the time they take everything out or cut it off, I have scalp damage and in some parts it will never grow again. ‘

Brown said that what she finds most hurtful is called ‘Gorilla Glue Girl’, which ‘bothers my little girls when they go to school’.

‘My name is Tessica. Every time someone posts something on social media, then it is, my mailbox is flooded. Do not worry about this thing. Yes, everyone can say that. This is what my mother keeps telling me, ‘Stop reading the comments,’ ‘she said.

‘But I can not help myself. I’m going to read it, and they’re still sending me snippets of what happened … It’s way, way, way, too much, ‘Brown added.

In the midst of all the mockery and ridicule, however, some people supported the woman.

Beyoncé’s hairstylist, Neal Farinah, offered her a wig, while celebrities such as Missy Elliott and Chance the Rapper also supported her, according to ET.

“I’m glad mfs is actually supporting her through this,” Chance said on Twitter. ‘When I watched the video for the second time, it was hard to laugh because I could tell shorty I did not know she was putting one of the world’s most powerful adhesives in her hair. I hope she recovers well. ”

‘Porsha [Williams], she wants to send me hair. “Jess Hilarious, she and I talk every day as if we were friends,” Brown said. ‘A lot of people want to give my hair, but the reason I do not accept it is because I do not want people to be like,’ Oh, that’s why she did it. ‘

She also denied that she was considering suing Gorilla Glue for the debacle. The company had empathy with her situation.

‘If you knew me, you would know that I would never do anything. If you all knew me, you would love me. Everything you say, call me, talk to me. I’ll talk to you. I would really talk to a lot of people. “I’m not the person trying to make me out,” Brown told ET.

‘I’m not the whole Gorilla Glue girl, my name is Tessica Brown. Call me. I’ll talk to you. I will let you know exactly who I am, ”she added.
