Tesla’s Crazy Yoke Can Enable Flight Controls, Activate Rockets on Roadster

Elon Musk says the new Tesla Roadster (production starting in 2022) will be able to fly a bit, so maybe the new Model S yoke will be used so the driver pulls back on it to fly.

Of course, the Model S ‘yoke was the focus of many discussions after the unveiling of the refreshing S. So much so that even Lucid Motors had a bit of fun with its curious design. We later learned that it would probably be optional, with a standard steering wheel available for those who do not want the yoke, but who if Tesla’s intention was constantly that the yoke in the Model S should be tested before its real purpose, it is to enable flight of which Musk speaks in the new Tesla Roadster.

The message about how the yoke can control the car comes to us via Twitter (see the different tweets below). While the idea may seem a bit out of place, we have to take into account the fact that Musk often likes top ideas and that he definitely loves flights, at least flights that take us beyond Earth’s atmosphere.

If the yoke does indeed provide additional control panels, it is sure to activate the flight mode on the Roadster. Now we do not believe that the Roadster will leave the ground, but by pulling back the yoke, the SpaceX propellers are activated and offer the best acceleration.

However, since the Tesla Model S Plaid + does 0 to 60 MPH within 1.99 seconds and the Roadster is probably even faster than that, the car will make the car feel like it is flying.

The yoke can also be used for various maneuvers, such as some crazy turns, drives, and so on, but the focus on flight is what Musk often mentions, so we’ve highlighted this aspect here.
