Tesla Motors, Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) – Tesla takes charge: battery manufacturing is shown near the fully automated video

Earlier this week, Tesla Ing (NASDAQ: TSLA) released video from within its new battery cell factory that the company talked about during its battery and investor day. The video showed many impressive machines that produce hundreds or thousands of battery cells, the current limiting factor in Tesla’s supply chain.

As treated by Teslarati, it appears that there is interesting information in the video. While Tesla is making its own battery cells, it is still buying from partners and lowering battery prices.

The video shows that Tesla’s battery factory is very automatic. CEO Elon Musk has talked in the past about a fully automated factory to build the Model 3, which requires little or no human interaction. That dream came true when Musk realized that people are very important. But this battery factory seems to be moving closer to Musk’s initial vision.

Tesla’s 4680 battery pack was recently leaked, and these are the cells that will be in the pack. The battery cells seem to be created, sorted and stored in clean rooms, while all these processes are automated. Compared to typical batteries manufacturing factories, there are far fewer human workers seen in Tesla’s video. These advances could help lower battery and vehicle prices, but also ease restrictions on Tesla’s offering.
