Tesla Motors, Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) – Tesla revokes FSD Beta access for drivers not ‘paying enough attention to the road’

Tesla Ing (NASDAQ: TSLA) CEO Elon Musk said over the weekend that the automaker was revoking access to its beta self-driving feature to drivers who did not heed the road.

What happened: The entrepreneur revealed on Twitter that the FSD beta has expanded to about 2,000 owners.

‘We also moved into beta where drivers did not pay enough attention to the road. No accidents to date, “Musk wrote.

Musk said the next major release of FSD would take place in April. He said the carmaker “goes with a pure vision – not even with radar.”

Why it matters: Earlier in March, Musk said the self-management software would be introduced to a larger group of people.

The carmaker planned to add a “download beta button” to its in-car software that would allow users to opt in to the beta.

The update will only be available to users who agree to drive carefully, and users must approve an alert before the download is allowed, according to Musk.

When the FSD feature was first announced in October last year, Musk said Tesla is following a slow and cautious approach.

The feature costs $ 10,000 and is available through a subscriber model by June.

Price action: Tesla shares closed nearly 0.8% lower at $ 693.73 on Friday and fell 0.11% in the after-hours session.
