SpaceX en Tesla Ing (NASDAQ: TSLA) CEO Elon Musk appears for the third time on Joe Rogan’s podcast and with plenty to share.
what happened: During Thursday’s interview with Rogan, Musk shared his thoughts on what a Tesla van might look like.
“Because you have a large, flat area, it can actually make sense,” Musk told Rogan.
“You can also have a roof where it has solar power, and then, when it stands still, go out and provide shade, and maybe you triple the environment or something.”
The Tesla boss suspected that the solar panel setup of an EV bus could charge enough ‘where you get 30 miles a day.’
Rogan’s latest interview with Musk is now available Spotify Technology SA (NYSE: SPOT).
Why it matters: During the EV giant’s earnings call on January 27, the Tesla boss told shareholders: “I think Tesla is definitely going to make an electric van sometime.”
The idea of an EV van seems obvious at first, but battery technology and cell phone supplies available today are not advanced enough to make a van a reality in the short term. Tesla did not give an timeline an EV release.
