Tesla drivers can set their horn to speed sounds – or record their own

The long awaited software update that allows Tesla owners to change their horn sound to anything they want is here.

The sounds on offer include clothes, goat, snake, applause, and more.

You can actually record a custom sound that you can keep, which is equal parts wonderful and really, scary.

However, there is a caveat; as explain by Elon Musk, only Tesla cars with the optional pedestrian speaker feature can do so.

If you have the feature, it means that your Tesla can also be the sound source at a party. You can also set up your own party wherever you go. With disco hits. Or a selection of obscure psychedelic rock tracks from the 1970s. The more I think about it, the more it seems like this feature needs to be used very, very carefully.

There is one trick that Tesla has pulled to make the function less intrusive for other drivers: the car must be parked to work. Otherwise, all you get is the good old standard horn.
