For the second time in less than a month, Tesla Motors (NASDAQ: TSLA) has adjusted its prices on several of its models. In an overnight update of its online configurator reported early Thursday morning by Elektrek Vehicles (EV)’s website Electrek, Tesla made these changes to several of its models and finishes.
The price of the Model 3 Standard Range Plus increased by $ 500 to $ 37,490; the previous price was $ 36,990. On the other hand, the long-distance finish of the same model had a price reduction of the same amount, which dropped to $ 46,490. No adjustment was made to the Model 3 Performance, which remains at $ 55,990.
The biggest change was made to the Tesla Model S Plaid +, a car that has not yet hit the market. If that happens, it’s going to put a consumer $ 149,990 – $ 10,000 above the $ 139,990 the company previously set. Meanwhile, the Model S Long Range AWD and the Plaid finish maintain their price, at $ 79,990 and $ 119,990, respectively.

Tesla did not change the prices of its Model Y or Model X SUVs early on Thursday morning.
Unlike current car manufacturers, Tesla sells its vehicles directly to consumers rather than through a large network of third-party dealers. As such, it can and does set uniform prices for those cars, although it is subject to adjustment if and when the company approves them.
As with other price adjustments, Tesla did not comment on this.
The company had a great day in the stock market on Thursday. It increased by 4.7%, better than the 1% increase of S&P 500 index.
