Telltale’s excellent Tales from the Borderlands finally returns to stores next week • Eurogamer.net

Telltale Games’ amazing Tales from the Borderlands, an extremely brave story adventure inspired by Gearbox’s popular series of first-person shooters, will finally return to digital store windows next Wednesday, February 17, after being delisted in mid-2019. .

Tales from the Borderlands was originally released in 2014, and, at least for my money, easily the best thing Telltale has ever done. It smooths the more abrasive edges of the mainline of the Borderlands series to deliver a sincere, and surprisingly gripping adventure in five episodes focusing on the employee of Hyperion Rhys (played by Troy Baker) and the Pandoran artist Fiona ( Fiona Bailey) while trying to find and open a safe.

It follows Telltales’ usual cinematic narrative adventure formula, but nails it to almost every front, with pockets of style and wit, a surprisingly gripping plot, a very pleasing role of characters, brilliant sets, and, oh yes, none. but five of the most joyful memorable intro series ever connected for video games.

Unfortunately, Tales from the Borderlands had a similar fate as numerous other Telltale titles and was removed from the sale after the studio closed in 2018.

However, Gearbox has now announced that it will release all five deliveries in a single package from February 17th. The only change is the removal of the comparison screens for selecting players that appear at the end of each episode.

Despite the undeniable quality, Tales from the Borderlands did not bring in the kind of sales that Telltale management had hoped for on its original release. As a result, the series was almost canned at the center – and was only completed after his passionate development team convinced the studio heads to end their production with a skeleton crew who stayed extra hours as a voluntary choice.

Tales from the Borderlands’ return to PlayStation, Xbox and PC next week finally gives the game a second chance at success – and who knows, maybe we’ll see Rhys and Fiona again one day for a second, eagerly awaited adventure.
