Teenager shot in the face, driver killed during violent night in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – At least two people have been killed, including a teenager, after a violent night in the city of Philadelphia.

Police say a 17-year-old boy was shot in the face in the 2100 block of Jefferson Street in North Philadelphia around 9 p.m.

He was rushed to an area hospital where he later died.

Around the same time, a man was found shot dead in a vehicle in South Philadelphia.

The discovery was made in Broad Street and Packer Avenue.

According to police, the man was found in a car that was studded with a bullet and crashed into a pole. He was rushed to an area hospital where he later died.

Early in the evening, around 7 p.m., police say a 13-year-old boy was shot near the basketball court at 57th Street and Haverford Avenue in West Philadelphia.

According to police, officers found a 13-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot.

He was rushed to Philadelphia Children’s Hospital, where he is listed in a stable condition.

No arrests have been made in connection with this shooting.

According to an interactive map created by the city inspector’s office to detect gun violence, there have been more than 50 non-fatal shootings and at least 15 fatal shootings since the map was last updated on January 14, 2021. More than 20 people have been shot, according to Philadelphia police, since Friday night.
