Ted Cruz mocks John Boehner’s ‘drunk, bloviate spot’

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz mockingly said Friday that he proudly bears former House Speaker John Boehner’s “drunk, bloviate spot” after Boehner’s latest cutting remark about the Republican of Texas.

“The swamp is unfortunate,” Cruz tweeted with a clip from an upcoming CBS News interview with Boehner in which he called Cruz a “jerk” and accused him of being “very noisy” but not particularly productive in Congress is not.

“I proudly bear his drunken, bitter mockery. Please do not cry,” Cruz joked, referring to occasions when Boehner became emotional during his public career.

In the interview, Boehner says he does not like to ‘defeat anyone’, but that he would make an exception for Cruz.

“Perfect symbol, you know, to be elected, a lot of noise, a lot of attention to yourself, a lot of money to raise, which means you’re going to make more noise, raise more money,” Boehner told CBS. of how he views Cruz’s political career.

Boehner, an Ohio Republican who served as House Speaker from 2011-2015, is conducting the interview rounds to promote his book ‘On The House: A Washington Memoir,’ which appears next week. Boehner represented the 8th Congressional District of Ohio from 1991-2015.

The former speaker took several shots at Cruz, including while recording his audiobook when he reportedly told Cruz to “f —” himself in a few moments outside of writing.

Cruz made a joke of it at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Florida in February, saying: ‘John Boehner made news. He suggested I do something that was anatomically impossible. To which my answer was: ‘Who is John Boehner according to The Hill.

In his book, Boehner calls both Cruz and Representative Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, “political terrorists,” adding that Jordan spends most of his time tearing things apart.
