“Teams just started figuring us out”

The Seattle Seahawks attack came to a head after a hot start in 2020.

Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf talks to former Pro Bowler Brandon Marshall about I’m an Athlete Podcast, said defense knew what Seattle was trying to do, making it easier to slow down.

“Teams just started figuring us out,” Metcalf said. via Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic. “We’ve been running deep just since (coach) Pete (Carroll) got there. Play action. Start the ball, run the ball, run the ball, go deep. Teams just said, ‘We just are not going to take you all deep. let go. ”

With the short quote from Metcalf, there is some frustration for a breach that has become predictable and could not be adjusted.

Pete Carroll’s response to the offense ‘offense was to say the Seahawks should run the ball more in 2021 to force defenses out of the Cover 2 appearance that slows the deep game, as Metcalf mentioned.

The inability to adjust the offense eventually led to the dismissal of offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.

The next man at the helm of the Seahawks attack will be given the task of overcoming the obstacles that keep Seattle from unlocking the true potential of talented players like Metcalf. However, given Carroll’s comments, Metcalf’s grievances about managing the ball on early down situations are unlikely to be answered with open ears.
