On Thursday morning, Riot Games released brand new information on what Teamfight Tactics players can expect in the course of 2021 as part of their season 202 live stream. With more than 200,000 fans watching their official YouTube live stream, TJ Bourus, the product leader for the automated chess game, talked about what players will experience in the short and long term.

Although the segment dedicated to Teamfight Tactics was shorter than most, players have received confirmation that two sets of content will appear in 2021, including the mid-set expansion, in the coming weeks. Set 5, whose name has not been released, will have a good versus bad atmosphere, according to Bourus. Specifications are not shared, except champions like Garen and Riven will represent the “good” guys, while Darius, Volibear, Morgana, Teemo and the Viego (the newly revealed “Ruined King” champion) will make up the bad stuff later this spring.

For players who want to blend their gaming experience, the development team announced today that a “turbo” game is on the horizon. According to Bourus, people who want to play a simpler and faster way of TFT will explode the new game mode, after which they will share more information later this year.

The last bit of information released during the stream is one that players have been asking for since shortly after the game was released: a spectator mode. The development team is working hard to create an e-sports-specific spectator mode for the end of the year that they want ready for the Set 5 World Championships. No further details were shared about when someone may come to the standard client of the game.
