Today, TCL announces a trio of Android tablets that will be released over the next few months, including a model that uses an NXTPAPER screen, and their competitor to color E Ink.
According to the specification sheet, the TCL TAB 10S and TCL NXTPAPER have a lot in common. Both tablets are used on Android 10, use a MediaTek MT8768 hard drive and offer as much as 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.
The main thing that distinguishes the two Android tablets is actually the screen. The more affordable TCL TAB 10S has a traditional 10.1-inch tablet screen, which reads with a resolution of 2000 × 1920, complete with TCL T-Pen stylus support. The TAB 10S is also ready to be connected to different accessories with POGO pens – sold separately.
This fairly traditional Android tablet will launch at a fantastic price of € 199 when it launches in the EU, North America, Middle East / Africa, China, Pacific and Latin America in March.
At the higher end of the spectrum, the TCL NXTPAPER is the first tablet to use the company’s NXTPAPER display technology – announced last year – which, according to TCL, ” offers a paper-like visual experience without flicker or harmful blue light ” which appears is similar to a color E Ink. The supposed benefits of the NXTPAPER tablet are that you will have no flicker and less blue light, both of which can help reduce the usual eye strain of using technology for long periods of time.
The TCL NXTPAPER Android tablet with its name-screen technology will go on sale for € 349 when it launches in April. Unfortunately, there is no current indication of a North American launch.
