Taylor Swift’s ‘Evermore’ returns at number 1 for the third week on Billboard 200

The Billboard 200 rankings rank the most popular albums of the week in the United States based on multi-metric consumption, measured in equivalent album units. Units consist of album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit is equal to one album sale, or ten individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 official audio and video streams paid for, or an entry generated by songs from an album . The new graph on 16 January 2021 (where Always return to number 1) will be posted in full on Billboard‘s website on January 12th. Follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram for all map news.

Of AlwaysThe 56,000 equivalent album units earned in the tracking week that ended on January 7, and SEA units consist of 38,000 (equivalent to 50.43 million on-demand streams of the album’s songs), album sales consist of 16,000 and TEA units consist of 2000.

Although Always had a 22% decrease in units, the slide was tempered by the release of a luxury edition of the album on Thursday, January 7, the last day of tracking the chart. The new edition boasts two additional songs. (All versions of the album are combined for detection.)

Always achieves the smallest unit total for a number 1 album in almost two years, since A Boogie Wit da Hoodie Hoodie SZN was number 1 on the graph of 16 February 2019, with only 47,000 units. (The top of the chart can sometimes be a bit light in units at the beginning of the year, as few new albums are released in January. On the new map, for example, there is no debut within the top 100, and a week ago there was only one debut on the entire list: Playboi Carti’s Whole Lotta Red at number 1.)

Lil Durk’s The voice climbed 3-2 in its third week on the list, earning a new peak, with 48,000 equivalent album units earned (28% lower). The voice corresponds to Lil Durk’s career highlight on the list, as his latest version, Just Cause Y’all Waited 2 a peak of 2 on the 11 July 2020 date.

The voice debuted at number 46 on the January 2 chart, after only one day of activity, as the album was released on Thursday, December 24 (the last day of the tracking week of January 2). It then rose to number 3 in its first full graph tracking week.

A trio of former no. 1’s are the following, like Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the stars, aim for the moon rises 4-3 with 44,000 equivalent album units (3% lower), Ariana Grande’s Positions climb 5-4 with 35,000 units (8% lower) and Playboi Carti’s Whole Lotta Red falls 1-5 in its second week by 33,000 units (66% lower). Megan Thee Hings’s Good news hump 7-6 with just over 32,000 units earned (4% lower).

The rest of the top 10 consists of former toppers: Luke Combs’ What you see is what you get rises by 8-7 (earning 32,000 equivalent album units; by 4% less), Bad Bunny’s The Ultimate Tour of the World moves 9-8 (31,000; down 7%), Juice WRLDs Legends never die jump 11-9 (30,000; 4% lower) and Lil Baby’s My turn hop 13-10 (29,000; 2% lower).
