Taylor Swift Says Goodbye to 2020 in Giant Bear Costume: ‘It’s Been Weird’

Both LPs debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 and earned Swift the seventh and eighth consecutive number 1 albums of her career. (Folklore in particular, has spent eight non-consecutive weeks at number 1 since its release in July, becoming the first and only studio series to sell more than one million copies in October.)

Meanwhile, each studio’s premier single – Folklore‘s cozy “Cardigan” and Always‘s witty “Willow” – also roared with the release to the top of the Hot 100, making her the first artist in Billboard history to debut on top of both cards simultaneously, and to do so not once but twice.

And as if the release of two surprise albums during a pandemic was not enough, Swift also revealed The Long Pond Studio Sessions on Disney +, and continues to record the first five albums of her back catalog following the ongoing saga over the ownership of her masters with Scooter Braun and her former label label Scott Borchetta. While Tay has not yet announced when one of the recorded projects will be ready, his fans gave a spin on the updated version of ‘Love Story’ in early December, thanks to a hilarious Match.com ad led by her friend Ryan Reynolds.
